Intraoral Cameras
We always try to explain things as clearly as possible to our patients, but sometimes pictures say more than words can. Wand-like devices called intraoral cameras give us a way to take close-up pictures of your teeth and display them on a screen, giving you a chance to see exactly what we see so that you understand what your smile needs. The photographs taken with these cameras are also extremely helpful whenever we need to process an insurance claim or refer you to a specialist.
Digital X-Rays
It’s not hard to see why dentists overwhelmingly favor digital X-rays over older film ones. When taken digitally, the images can be displayed right away on a computer, and they can be modified to make it easier to identify problems (such as by changing the contrast or zooming in). Without film, there’s no need to use harsh, environmentally damaging chemicals to develop the images. And of course, patients enjoy that these X-rays emit about 80% less radiation.
